Planning an event requires tons of time and energy: making decisions about the venue, the refreshments, and who will do what. Sure — you want everything to go smoothly, but what you really want is to get the people there. The right people. The people who will enjoy every last second of your amazing event. The people who will dance, or clap, or donate — whatever it is you hope they’ll do. The people who will tell their friends. But how? We’re pleased to announce a powerful new integration with Eventbrite! Eventbrite and email can be two very powerful event marketing tools — especially if you’re on a tight budget. Here’s what you need to do to attract the right people — lots of people — to your next event.

Create a Mad Mimi Account

If you don’t already have a Mad Mimi account, grab one here! Mad Mimi is the easiest way to send email newsletters and promotions, and it’s free for lists up to 2,500 people. If you have an existing email list, you can use it to promote your event. But if not, you’ll want to create a list ASAP so you can add people who register. This way, you’ll be able to communicate about last-minute details and follow up after the event.

Create an Eventbrite Account

Eventbrite is an online tool that helps you sell (or give away) event tickets and manage the registration process. If you don’t already have an account, grab one now. There are many benefits to using Eventbrite, including:

  • Creating an event webpage
  • Collecting money online with credit cards and PayPal
  • Promoting your event on social media
  • Going paperless with Eventbrite’s mobile apps (including collecting money at the door with Eventbrite’s secure mobile box office app for the iPad)
  • Appearing in public event listings
  • Integrating with your Mad Mimi account

Create a New Event on Eventbrite

You can have your event live on Eventbrite in just a few minutes. Upload a logo and customize the color scheme of your event webpage. Here’s a quick event we threw together for a beer-brewing society. eventbrite

Use the Mad Mimi Eventbrite Integration

Now that you’ve created your event in Eventbrite, you can pull info right into your Mad Mimi account. Adding the integration is really simple, especially if you’re already logged into Eventbrite. Here’s how to set it up. Now when you go to edit any text module in a Mad Mimi email, you’ll see a small Eventbrite icon. eventbrite_email If you click the icon, you’ll automatically add the name of your event and a link to its Eventbrite webpage. It’s that easy to send out an event-related email to your existing list!

Build Your Email List

With the Mad Mimi Eventbrite integration, you can also collect new email addresses as people register on Eventbrite. Hosting events can be a great way to gain new followers and build your email list!
